Mowgli Street Food Knutsford: Experience Authentic Indian Street Food in a Vibrant Atmosphere

Had such a wonderful meal here, the atmosphere is beautiful too. Drinks were great and it was lovely sharing food with everyone! Would 100% recommend, their vegetarian selection is so large and excellent too!

I'd never been here before so I wasn't sure what to expect. We were a group of 5, four of us opted for the set menu and chose three additional extra dishes. The portions look small but with the amount of dishes that were served up there was more than we could eat. Each dish was very flavoursome but not overpowering, hints of herds and spices left you wanting more. I'd recommend the chat bombs and the Holy Chow. I'd definitely go here again.

I drove from St Albans in Hertfordshire to The Mere Hotel to drop off a delivery, before I headed back I went to Mowgli for some food, and I must say the flavours that this place put together were absolutely outstanding! I was informed that all meat is Halal, so I ordered the Mango Salad for starter, and fried chicken with small cubes of fried potatoes for my main. The Mango salad, it blew me away, the marinade was so beautifully flavoured, with crunchy raw broccoli, edamame beans, a few cubes of mango, pomegranate and some crunchy little thing's mixed in, I would give that a 9.9/10. The main came with some sauce to pour over the fried chicken and potatoes, and again, my mouth was dancing with flavour, another 9.9/10. Mowgli is absolutely spotlessly clean, which I'm personally a big fan of, the service was friendly and given with a smile. The temperature was nice and cool but not to cold, with a moderate noise level to create a very nice ambience. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone travelling through, or anyone who lives nearby to experience the incredible delights being served. It's a perfect little restaurant for a family to go to relax, and eat some really delicious food. Thank you very much for an amazing culinary experience, if I deliver again nearby I will 100% be back.

I eat out 2/3 times a week, I’d liken to think I leave very fair reviews .. My review of Mowgli is that it’s ’just ok’ .. The food came out far too quick for it to be fresh, so I was suspicious at that, but what confirmed it for me was the fact the curries were really watery? And the rice was cold and tasteless? I wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend someone to go! The waiter also forgot 2 drinks which we ordered, so all in all, not great! I ate at the Oxford Road one in 2018 and don’t remember any issue! Maybe when a restaurant becomes a chain, they just don’t deliver great food or service anymore? What a shame!

Our server Charlotte was lovely and gave great recommendations for me and my 5 friends when we ate for lunch. My house chicken curry was great and so was the rice/bread sides. Great food, atmosphere and service

Sadly, probably one of the poorer visits to Mowgli for us. The food as always was great however the service was incredibly lacking. The team member that showed us to our seats and took our initial order was 10/10 but it went down hill from there. Our food was brought over by I think a manager and the items were mumbled in a whisper as they were put on the table - one person had a severe peanut allergy and the other was vegetarian so not confidently know what was what, isn’t a great experience. We asked the same person for water just after food was put down and I had to go over and find her to chase for this a good 5-10 minutes later as getting anyone’s attention was hard. It’s hard to justify leaving the service charge for such service but equally as hard to ask for it to be taken off when the team member’s demeanour is somewhat pressuring as the card machine is put in front of you. Have eaten at Knutsford before and the service was stellar, so perhaps just an off day.

As always, lovely staff! This is our first visit to a mowgli since the new menu change. We had mixed feelings as the tiffin offered good value for what are effectively tapas small plates. The new pricing structure means it's much more expensive and the switch from using chicken breast to chicken thigh was a noted downgrade. I don't think we'll give up just yet but I do think some improvements could be made.
